Food Safety Officer

The Role
As part of our continued commitment to food safety excellence and global certification standards, we are seeking an experienced Food Safety Office to lead and strengthen our food safety systems across our global operations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the global implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of FSSC 22000 or other GFSI approved certification across all coffee facilities, defining and driving a clear certification roadmap.
· Maintain, manage, and continuously improve the Food Safety and Quality Management System (FSQMS), ensuring full alignment with FSSC 22000, HACCP, PRPs, and regulatory requirements.
· Develop, maintain, and standardize all food safety documentation and tools, including HACCP plans, PRPs, audit programs, traceability procedures, and hygiene standards.
· Coordinate, guide, and supervise Regional Food Safety Experts, ensuring effective execution of certification, audit readiness, and compliance activities at regional and site levels.
· Ensure all facilities meet and maintain FSSC 22000 certification, stay current with certification, customer, and regulatory changes, and leading sites through external and surveillance audits.
· Plan and conduct internal audits, hygiene inspections, and traceability exercises, driving corrective and preventive actions and monitoring effectiveness
· Manage supplier and customer food safety and compliance requirements, including approvals, audits, and performance monitoring.
· Build internal food safety capability through training, coaching, and system maturity development, preparing the organization for cross-commodity expansion, including cocoa
Skills & Experience:
The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience within a similar role in a commodity environment or FMCG environment and a relevant degree or equivalent experience business or similar. In addition, strong knowledge of food accreditation and the supply chain and proven food safety experience within the coffee industry.
A focused approach to data management and used to analysing and reconciling data with external reports. Strong communications skills are a must as the role will require liaising with various parties to resolve any differences. To be able to take full ownership or processes in a timely manner and look to improve process.
We are looking for a candidate with excellent attention to detail, knowledge of latest food safety regulations and requirements within soft commodities, the ability to translate requirements into practical actions, and proficiency in English and Spanish.
